Materials & Care
Every Livora piece is made from materials we'd wear every day ourselves. Here's exactly what's inside your jewelry — and how to keep it looking new for years.
The metal
925 Sterling Silver
Our base metal is genuine 925 sterling silver: 92.5% pure silver alloyed with 7.5% other metals (usually copper) for durability. This is the international standard for real silver jewelry and the reason every Livora piece carries the trusted "925" hallmark.
Most pieces are finished with rhodium or platinum plating — a microscopic layer that protects against tarnish and gives the surface its bright, mirror-like shine.

The stones
Moissanite & Zircon
Our brilliant stones are lab-grown moissanite (D color, VVS clarity — the highest gemstone grades) and high-quality cubic zirconia. Both are ethically created, conflict-free, and engineered for extraordinary fire.
Moissanite’s refractive index of 2.65 actually surpasses a diamond’s 2.42 — it catches and throws light with a brilliance you can spot from across the room.

The everyday rules
✓ Always do
- Put your jewelry on last — after lotion, perfume, makeup, and hairspray have dried
- Take it off before sleep and before exercising
- Store each piece in its own pouch or compartment
- Wipe gently with a soft cloth after each wear
- Have rings inspected once a year if you wear them daily
✗ Avoid these
- Showering, swimming, or hot-tub time — chlorine and salt water are silver’s enemies
- Direct contact with perfume, lotion, sunscreen, or chemical sprays
- Sleeping in your jewelry — friction damages prongs and stones
- Tossing pieces loose in a drawer where they tangle and scratch
- Cleaning with toothpaste or hard brushes — they micro-scratch the surface
The 4-step home polish
Warm soapy bath
Fill a small bowl with warm (not hot) water and add a drop of mild dish soap. Soak the piece for 5 minutes. This loosens skin oils and product residue without harming the metal.
Soft-brush touch-up
Use a clean, ultra-soft toothbrush (a baby toothbrush is perfect) to gently brush behind prongs and around the stones. Never use abrasive cleaners or hard bristles.
Rinse & pat dry
Rinse under clean, lukewarm running water. Pat dry with a soft, lint-free cloth — do not rub vigorously, especially around stones in pavé settings.
Polish & store
Buff lightly with a silver polishing cloth to restore the shine. Return the piece to its anti-tarnish pouch and store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
